There are many options for finding flights to Morocco. Here I want to talk specifically about flying from the United States (USA) to Morocco. (Look for updates along the lines that also include routes from Canada to Morocco.)
There are limited options when it comes to direct flights to Morocco from the US. There are no direct flights from the USA to Marrakesh, only to Casablanca. While Royal Air Maroc, Morocco's flag carrier, opens a few routes from US cities, they are limited.
There is currently a flight from New York to Morocco, and an option to fly from Boston, Washington-Dulles and Miami to Casablanca. If you prefer the direct option, you should choose one of them. Royal Air Maroc rarely offers discounts on its flights, and especially during the summer months, flight prices increase significantly.
If you're open to bonding, there are plenty of good options out there. We like to use connections when we fly to discover new places. For each of the routes I will share below, you can also find additional information about each of the connecting cities.
Tips for stopovers when traveling to Morocco
My general advice for stopovers is to keep them short enough so that you don't spend a lot of time in the airport OR schedule them so that you have enough time to leave the airport and explore! For each of the intermediate cities, you can click on the name of the place and be taken to a new page with information such as;

The routes are based on an intermediate city, not the starting or ending destination. I'll try to include as many starting cities as possible, but you can almost always change this depending on how many stops suit you. In this example, the options have one stopover between leaving the US and arriving in Morocco.

I have flown this route more times than I care to admit, and Madrid airport could be my second home. Flight route number two: Lisbon
Airline: TAP

This line is a bit new to Marrakech, but is a good option with short connections. The leg from Lisbon to Marrakech is only 1 hour flight time and the time at the airport is usually less than 4 hours. Air France is one of the oldest airlines flying to Morocco due to its long history in the region. It also flies to Rabat, making it one of the few international airlines to offer this connection.

Destination: Casablanca/Marrakech
British Air options fly via London to either Heathrow or Gatwick, depending on your departure point and flight route. Both options are good, but if you're planning on taking a long layover, it's easier to get into town at Heathrow.

Airline: KLM/Transavia
Destination: Chicago/Las Vegas/Salt Lake City/Atlanta
Destination: Marrakesh
This flight is a shared flight from Amsterdam to Marrakech. The second part is provided by Transavia, a low-cost airline. However, they have a contract with KLM so your baggage is fully screened and the baggage policy etc is the same as on any KLM international flight.

Yes, this flight will take you out of the way by completely avoiding Morocco on the way to Istanbul, but they often have very good prices and Turkish Air is a fun airline to fly with. We were able to buy flights for my parents for a year with a 2 for 1 discount. Besides, any excuse to see Istanbul is a good one!

Norwegian is a low-cost airline, so don't expect a lot of frills, but you can get to Marrakech quite cheaply. I would recommend this tour to a more experienced traveler who feels comfortablebook multiple flight segmentsand travel lights.

Alternative escape routes
Sometimes you can save a lot of money by splitting flights or taking more distant routes. This is useful if you have time available and are more confident. It also helps if you are traveling with light luggage.
Two examples of flights we have done this way are;
- Minneapolis - Reykjavik - Amsterdam - Marrakesh
- Chicago - Doha - Marrakech
The flight to Reykjavik was a broken ticket (tickets purchased separately) which saved us quite a bit of money. Our first ticket was the return flight from Marrakesh to Amsterdam. Our second ticket was from Amsterdam to Minneapolis via Reykjavik. Why? Part of the reason was that we wanted to see Iceland, and this was the way to do it in a short amount of time. But the main reason was that it saved us money.
Flying to Minneapolis can be very expensive with some direct international flights from Europe, this route was cheap and gave us a nice layover.

The Doha route takes you very far, which is another motive for cheap flights. BUT, it can be a big cost saving. So if time is less of an issue than money, this is a good avenue to look into. Qatar Airlines has several US destinations and direct flights from Doha to Marrakesh and Casablanca.
Emirates offers a similar option that flies from the US to Dubai and then on to Casablanca.

How to find reasonable/cheap prices to Morocco
I am often asked how to find the cheapest flights from the USA to Morocco. There is no hard and fast rule for this, and part of it depends on luck and flexibility.
The best way to find affordable pricesbe as flexible as possible. I always have an alarm on a planeFlight guard dogwho sends me an email when there is a deal between the cities I'm looking at.
If you have specific dates you need to travel on, start looking as far in advance as possible. Ideally, this means around 9 months of travel and less. It depends on the time of year you are traveling.
I usually find the best prices to Morocco are in November and early December as well as January, February and part of March.If you are planning a summer visitprices will be expensive. In my experience, the best rates for summer prices are around January/February.
A few more tips;if you find a good price don't expect it to last long.You can get the best prices if you can place your order as soon as you see it available. Personally, I book when I see flights for $600 or less (flights to/from Chicago). From the east coast of the USA, it's probably also a good choice. From the west coast it may be slightly higher. That's not to say you can never get fewer flights, but they are less frequent.
If you're looking for flight deals and don't really have fixed dates, use sites likeCheap Scott TicketsISecret flight. They make (big) deals available on a regular basis. While deals in Morocco are less frequent than elsewhere, they do happen from time to time and can be huge savings if they work.
If you have the flexibility, consider flights with longer stopovers and take advantage of the stopover location. If you want to stay the night, you can often save much more than the price of a hotel room and get an extra experience.
Finally, set alerts on multiple sites and monitor different locations, but be sure to clear your computer's cookies if you browse multiple days. This will help you see price differences and get the best price deal.
